Collaborative Stickies & Mind-mapping

Popplet is getting GREAT reviews and I must agree with them! Better yet... this amazing tool is FREE! Popplet is designed as a big "pinboard" where you can put "popples." The only feature I am not thrilled about is that in order to create an account, you must provide an email address. Our students still do not have email addresses. That causes a big problem for us! If it weren't for that I would be using it with them right away! I do agree that Popplet combines the best features of other online sticky note services (like Wallwisher) and mind-mapping sites (like bubbl.us.) For more information and to find more sites like Popplet, Wallwisher, and bubbl.us follow the link below.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that the BCS Literacy site has undergone some MAJOR changes.  We now have a Students, Parents, and Teachers page that will link you directly to important and useful sites, documents, resources, and MORE!  Students... I hope you explore the site and get comfortable with it!  We will be using it A LOT in the upcoming weeks!  I am SO happy to see everyone getting more comfortable using technology in the classroom!  Keep up the good work!!

Web 2.0 Collaboration Resources

Hello to all of the other technology enthusiasts out there... I came across this great list of web 2.0 sites for collaboration.  I have checked out a few and REALLY like Wiggo and Groupboard.  I will be honest... I didn't get to try them all out yet.  Let's not forget about Typewithme either... I think that may be the quickest, easiest way to collaborate with docs.  Oh... and Google resources just go without saying!!!

Blogging News

I just have to say how proud I am of the classes that are using their new blogs to become better readers and writers!  Blogging is a BIG responsibility... and I am SO happy to see that the BCS students are able to show the teachers and faculty that they are grown up enough to handle it!  Keep up the good work everyone and keep blogging!
